Plaka, one of the most picturesque settlements in Naxos, is located at the west side of the island. In Plaka, you will see the remains of an ancient Castle, where, according to mythology, a queen - fortune teller found refugee after the sudden death of her two prospective fiances.
The beach, a contuation of Agia Anna's beach, is consisted of 4 km endless sandy shore, a pole of attraction for thousands of tourists. At the late 70's Plaka's beach was popular with the hippies and with the lovers of natural way of living.
